If you have seen New Orleans tourism, advertising, or local business branding photography, then you probably know week three’s subject of the Photo Crusades - Zack Smith. Zack works consistently with the New Orleans Tourism and Marketing Corporation, French Quarter Festivals Inc, Chase Bank, Getty/Verbatim and Brand USA. As an artist, educator, and photographer, Zack has spent the past 20+ years working with the apex of New Orleans characters and culture.
Zack, who is currently the Grants Program Chair of the New Orleans Photo Alliance, recently opened a new studio on Magazine Street. It’s there that he sets the city’s creative pace by exhibiting fine art, running a commercial studio, and hosting a variety of photography workshops. “Wether you are an artist, business, or brand, we all have a story to tell,” he explains, “and I find my creative muse in being the photographic bridge that brings idea to reality.”
Currently Zack is channeling his rigor and energy into hosting “The Frame: A Louisiana Photograph Podcast.” This bi-monthly, hour-long series showcases Louisiana photographers co-produced with the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.
