History, culture, and nature meet in the work of this week’s subject of the Photo Crusades. Colleen Mullins has spent her life documenting places and events across the country – from San Francisco to Minnesota to New Orleans.
After Hurricane Katrina, Colleen created the project “Elysium,” focusing on the urban forest and the damage to trees by man-made forces in New Orleans. She has also combined nature and memory in “Cultivar” and represented history in the making in “Women’s March.” Colleen’s resume spans many years and covers teaching, writing, and book arts.
Her latest endeavor, along with fellow artist and photographer Bruce Myren, is Shark Tank: Photo Book Edition. This focuses on a photographer and publication options, adding performance art to her resume.
