Writers and artists of all sorts have been telling stories about New Orleans and the South for decades. The culture and timelessness of the region inspire and arouse the senses. This week, the Photo Crusades features Tammy Mercure, who is one of the many artists to fall in love with the South.
Tammy, who is a member of the artist-run collective Antenna, has been traveling throughout the southeastern United States for years, focusing on “one photo stories” and using her photography to create them. Tammy has told many “stories from the South,” but in “Cavaliers,” she easily exhibits the “area’s collective love of history and the land and their fierce, independent spirit.”
