New Orleans is generally compared to France and Spain in regard to culture and architect, and rightfully so since those two countries’ influences are still seen throughout the city. But New Orleans also shares a romantic connection to Italy. This week’s subject of the Photo Crusades – Jack Niven – is currently traveling throughout Italy where he will, no doubt, capture this parallel.
Jack began his career in Canada where he attended McMaster University, Alberta College of Art, and the Banff Centre School for Fine Arts. He began exhibiting in New Orleans in the late 2000s, focusing on painting and installations. His latest work, “Footings,” was on display at the Staple Goods Gallery on St Roch Avenue until its closing on March 4.
